Today’s FBI is an intelligence-driven and threat-focused national security organization with both intelligence and law enforcement responsibilities that is staffed by a dedicated cadre of more than 30,000 agents, analysts and other professionals who work around the clock and across the globe to protect the United States from terrorism, espionage, cyber attacks and major criminal threats, and to provide its many partners with services, support, training and leadership.
The Arizona Fusion Center, also known as the Arizona Counter Terrorism Information Center (ACTIC), is a joint effort between the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Arizona Department of Homeland Security, Federal Bureau of Investigation and other participating agencies. To support the Arizona homeland security effort, the Arizona Fusion Center was established and became operational in October 2004. Fusion centers serve as focal points within the state and local environment for the receipt, analysis, gathering, and sharing of threat-related information between the federal government and state, local, tribal, territorial (SLTT) and private sector partners.
