Cyber Southwest

Cyber Southwest will focus on creating a positive, unique, and highly productive unification point to further Arizona’s developing leadership in cybersecurity. This one-day forum will offer cybersecurity and information technology professionals a unique opportunity to get up-to-date information from some of today’s cyber thought leaders.


Technology Day at Fort Huachuca

These annual events are designed to stimulate the exchange of information between Fort Huachuca personnel, government, and industry partners. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the latest advancements in the IT, cybersecurity, intelligence, communications, and tactical technology fields.


IED Awareness/Bomb Threat Management

November 2 | Pima EOC (Tucson)

Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Awareness/Bomb Threat Management Workshop (4 hour course) – Improves the participant’s ability to manage IED threats by highlighting specific safety precautions associated with bomb threats and explosive incidents. Reinforces an integrated approach that combines training, planning, and risk management to maximize available resources for bomb threat management. The workshop is four hours long presented in classroom style format with five instructional modules for up to 50.


Bomb Threat Management (BTM) Planning Course

November 1 | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Glendale Regional Public Safety Training Center

The Bomb Threat Management (BTM) Planning Course introduces the participants to the DHS risk management process and the development of a Bomb Threat Management plan. It provides activities that allow participants to apply specific portions of the risk management process and their newly acquired knowledge about bomb threat management procedures to critique mock BTM plans. It culminates in an experiential learning activity where participants revise a BTM plan.

Target audience includes public and private sector emergency management representatives, critical infrastructure owners/operators, and law enforcement. The course learners may be entirely emergency management representatives, entirely law enforcement, or a mix of both.


VBIED Search Procedures

October 26 | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | PIMA County Office of Emergency Management (Tucson)

Vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) Detection Course (8 hour course) – Improves the participant’s ability to successfully inspect for, detect, and identify a VBIED. Instruction covers the VBIED threat, explosive effects, IEDs, and vehicle inspections, enabling participants to detect, deter, and protect against the illicit use of explosives. The course is eight hours long presented in classroom style format with five instructional modules and one hands-on practical exercise for up to 20 participants.

4th Annual Arizona InfraGard Charity Golf Open

In 2015, a total of $400,000 was raised from 27 golf tournaments. These Funds will continue to support the educational needs of children of Special Agents who have passed away. To date the Fund has assisted 207 children, with 39 receiving assistance for school year 2015-2016 which totaled $737,000. On average this year’s scholarship amount was $18,900 per student. In the last three years we have provided Funds for students from 23 different states and 41 different colleges and universities.

CPK’s “Pizza With A Purpose“ fundraiser in support of Arizona InfraGard takes place all day on Thursdays (September 1st, 8th, 22nd and 29th). Cybersecurity Collaboration Forum

CSCF will consist of sessions, and panel discussions, on rapidly evolving cyber challenges, threats, and remediation strategies. This joint collaboration will bring together government, industry and academia Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to share information with attendees on the latest trends, innovations, and best practices in cyber. This will also be an excellent opportunity to network with peers, and to connect with cyber professionals from across the Arizona cyber ecosystem.

Arizona InfraGard Annual Members Meeting

January 28, 2016 | 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM | Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak

On April 15, 2013, during the 117th running of the Boston Marathon, with more than 5,600 runners still in the race, two pressure-cooker bombs–packed with shrapnel and other materials exploded within seconds of each other near the finish line along Boylston Street. Three spectators died: a 23-year-old woman, a 29-year-old woman and an 8-year-old boy, while more than 260 other people were wounded.

An investigation involving more than 1,000 federal, state and local law enforcement personnel was quickly launched. A breakthrough in the case came less than two days later, when FBI analysts, who had pored through thousands of videos and photographs taken from security cameras in the area where the attack occurred, pinpointed two male suspects.

Domestic Terrorism 2015 – Southern Arizona
